Dentures can be made by taking a scan or an impression either before or after all the teeth have been removed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Dentures only for people who have lost all of their teeth?
Full dentures are indeed for those who no longer have enough healthy teeth to support other types of restorations, but there are partial dentures that can be made to replace only some of the teeth if you still have some healthy teeth that can support the appliance!
What is an immediate Denture vs a regular Denture
The biggest difference between the two lies in whether the denture is made before the teeth are removed or after. An immediate denture is one that is made prior to your extraction appointment and is ready to deliver the same day your teeth are removed. A regular denture is made a few weeks after your teeth are removed. The pro of the immediate is that it is ready to give you a beautiful smile right away. The downside is that your mouth will be going through some changes as it heals and so quite a few adjustment appointments may be needed in the weeks following and a new denture may need to be made once all the healing is done
How long does it take to get Dentures after teeth removal?
There are some Dentures that can be delivered the same day that the teeth are taken out! The biggest difference between dentures that are ready to be delivered the same day and dentures made after the teeth have been removed is that the same-day denture may need to be re-fitted since your gums will slowly change in shape as you are healing.

Dentures made after extractions usually take a few weeks to make but are less likely to need re-fitting.
What is the difference between regular Dentures and implant Dentures?
Regular Dentures rely on natural suction in order to maintain stability. While this is usually easily achievable for upper dentures lower dentures tend to have a harder time maintaining suction due to various muscle attachments and movement of your tongue. Implant dentures are dentures that use implants to maintain superior stability on both the upper or lower denture.
